After placing your order just send us a text at 757.903.7816 before heading over OR we set it out for you to conveniently grab-and-go. Our honey is pure and raw; it is never pasteurized or high-pressure filtered. This is important as it retains the enzymes, trace vitamins, minerals, anti-oxidants, antibacterial properties, and natural taste and aroma of the honey. We are committed to producing the finest quality honey. No chemicals are used in our hives during honey production and we employ sound beekeeping practices. Besides the fact that it tastes great, honey has many benefits. It is a natural alternative to sugar that can be used in everything from tea to your favorite cooked meal. It can soothe a sore throat or a burn on your skin. Honey can also be used to heal dry skin and heal cuts as it is a natural antiseptic. Local honey has the added benefit of reducing symptoms of allergies, as consuming traces of pollen in the honey may decrease the impact of airborne pollen. We extract our honey in summer and in the fall (not always, depends on nectar flow). This allows for seasonal variations in the color and taste of the honey, bringing out distinct floral flavors and aromas that are representative of wildflowers here in Hampton Roads. Each season brings a different type of honey as the nectar flow changes. |
